RC LASER CLASS SAIL NUMBERS
The RC Laser NA class has adopted a new registration and sail numbering system. These numbers and country designators are designed especially for the RC Laser and Windjammin Sails has been approved as an official RC Laser Class Association distributor of sail numbers. Two Digit Number - Each new boat is issued a hull number with the boat, the last two digits of the hull number becomes the sail number. All numbers are issued in sequence. Boats numbered before 2/01/04, may continue to use sail numbers with more than two digits if the owner wishes, however new class racing rules require two digits only. Note: 4 digit sail numbers are difficult to fit on C and D sails. Size and Font - Sail numbers must be a certain size and font. Sail number size: 4” Font: Arial Rounded MT Bold Color: Black Country Designator size: 2-1/2” Font: Arial Rounded MT Bold Color: Black All Windjammin sail numbers and country designators are made from Dacron ® Insignia cloth, commonly called "Sticky Back" or "Dac-Tac", the same number and reinforcement material used on big boat sails. The RC Laser class symbols come on the sail from the manufacturer.
Unlike vinyl number that are stiff and can shrink, insignia cloth is a very soft, flexible number material that does not shrink or fade in the sun over time.
Price below is numbers for both sides of the sail plus $1.00+ some change processing & shipping fee. To order more than 1 set, change the Qty after you add to cart.
(Count one side of sail as program will x2 for total $) Example: If you wanted your sail number to be 74, then total # digits above is 2 My Order form will double the number above for the other side of the sail and you will receive 74, 74 enough for both sides of the sail.
I would like the 3 letter country designator..(both sides of sail) No Thanks Yes - Add the 3 Letters
Installation - All numbers and letters must be installed on the sail as per the official class diagram. NOTE: the number set on the starboard (right) side of the sail is the higher installation location. C & D sail locations are the same.
Two boats, same number - There may be occasions when two boats compete in the same regatta that have the same sail number. In this case, one of the boats will be required to add a “1” in front of their sail number. This digit can be applied using black electrical tape, and may be removed at the end of the regatta.
