Whether
you're a afternoon laid back cruiser, or an all out
intense racer, you can sail with the no-pins, no-crystals,
no-glitches, no-interference freedom and security of
2.4GHz Spektrum DSM* technology.

Weight
• The small 6-channel RX only weighs 10
grams and only draws 3.5V-9.6V while most standard
receivers weight around 42.5 grams.
• Compact design 21.6mm x 30.1mm x 12.3mm

Immune to Environmental and Model Interference
Up to this time, conventional ground radios have
been operating on either the 27 MHz or the 75MHz
narrow band systems. These bands are
These
causes of interference come from some one else
on the same channel - like
-
Another
modeler on the same frequency
-
The
FCC allows High Power 72 MHz users to transmit
on channels that are in between our RC channels.
Some local businesses have been know to transmit
up to 50,000 KHz on these in between channels,
giving off a lot of interference to RC and
in some cases have even shut down the use
of certain frequencies as some clubs due to
know interference issues.
Another
major cause of interference on the 27 and 75MHz
bands come from RF noise. The 72 MHZ band is
extremely vulnerable to model generated noise
coming from
And
the 3rd type of interference on the 27 and 75MGz
band is 3im and 2im issues. This is when 2 or
3 other modelers are on frequencies that create
a harmonic witch then creates interference on
yet another channel.
However,
Spread Spektrum has eliminated all
these issues. The DX6 Spread Spektrum
system is a DuaLink
system that operates in the ultra
high 2.4GHz band. This ultra high frequency
offers several advantages over conventional
27 and 75MHz systems. First, all RF interference
only exists below 300MHz. At 2.4GHz (that’s
2400MHz) the operational frequency range
of the Spectrum system is 8 times higher
than the range of this model-generated RF
noise, making the system immune to these
types of interference.
Secondly,
unlike
the 27 and 75MHz band, the FCC limits the
power output in this 2.4GHz to a maximum
of 1watt. So, consequently no “high
power” commercial users interspersed
in the 2.4 GHz band.
|
|
Third,
the FCC also Mandates a function called Collision
Avoidance on the 2.4GHz band - meaning anything
turned on in the 2.4 range must be cognitive or
aware of other things in that band. So, when the
DX6 is turned on, the first thing it does is scan
all 80 channels looking for a open channel to
choose. Once it finds one it then locks on and
then turns on the transmitter. After it does that,
because the DX6 is a DuaLink system, it then searches
for a second open frequency, locks into that one
and then transmits on this second frequency also.
Thus, DuaLink means 2 transmitters and 2 receivers
and it actually transmits and receives on 2 frequencies
simultaneously. Collision Avoidance prevents a
system from coming on a frequency already taken
and prohibits other systems from coming on and
interfering

- Wireless
routers
- Cordless
phones
Anything
on the 2.4 GHz band must have "Collision
Avoidance".

| Spektrum's
"GUID"
• Each DX6 has a chip that has it's own
GUID, Globally Unique Identifier. This GUID or
secret code has so many digits that it is possible
to have over 4.2 Billion different combinations.
- The
transmitter comes from the factory with its
own unique GUID pre assigned. All receivers
that want to communicate with this transmitter
will first have to be taught the transmitter's
GUID by a process called binding. Once a receiver
is bound to a particular transmitter, that receiver
will only take commands from that transmitter
and nothing else.
- You
can bind an unlimited number of receivers to
a single transmitter
- And
you can bind a receiver as many times as you
want
- The
DX6 is sold with the receiver already bound
to the transmitter - so one really only needs
to bind addition receivers

| No
Frequency Overlaps or Crystals
• Here's the best part... no more changing
crystals... no worrying about someone else on
your channel.
• Simply turn the DX6i on and it scans for
2 available frequencies, then set the TX and RX.
You can arrive late and even with a race going
on, turn on the system, and it will not interfere
with those racing... but it will set itself and
your ready to go.

| Excellent
Range
• There was some concern about the range
since the antennas are only 6" long. I personally
check the range and it is excellent 500+
yards.
• I tested the Spektrum vs Futaba systems.
While both systems were hooked up and operating
a servo, I began to walk away holding both RX's.
I kept moving both sticks while my son on a walkie
talkie would let me know if the servos were functioning
ok. I was also holding a GPS to be able to judge
the distance I was getting from the RX's.
• At 350 yard, the Futaba system started
to go crazy and was soon after out of range. The
Spektrum was still operating perfectly. I then
continued to 500 yards, and I was amazed the Spektrum
was still showing no signs of any problems. I
stopped at 500 yards not because I was out of
range, but because I could not imagine ever sailing
further than that.... I could just barely see
a waving arm at that distance. So no worried as
far as range problems.

No
more Interference
• The Spektrum's DX6i sport park flyer system
utilizes patent-pending DuaLink ™ technology
to create a secure, reliable, robust 2.4GHz spread
spectrum link!
• Because the signal is pure digital, it
means that glitches are a thing of the past too.
No more annoying glitches that shatter the confidence
and cause you to worry about crashing. They're
a thing of the past too.
Not to mention the nasty intermodulation issues
that have plagued 27, 72 and 75 MHz like 2IM,
3IM and adjacent frequency. They too, can't affect
DSM.
